The Student Pharmacological Society of Asian International University organized an awareness campaign to educate students about the hazards of self-medication, a common yet risky practice among university students.
The event was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Aftab Sheikh, Razvikova Althanae, Lee Kristina and was organized and led by Rohana Zaman along with the team members of the Student Pharmacological Society.
Following a brief promotional drive, participating students visited different classrooms across the institute to raise awareness about the dangers of self-medicating without proper medical consultation. The campaign particularly addressed the local context of Kyrgyzstan, where frequent cold weather often leads studentsโespecially international studentsโto self-treat symptoms such as headaches, fever, and flu, sometimes overlooking underlying medical conditions.
The sessions emphasized the importance of seeking professional medical advice and understanding that improper medication can result in serious health complications. The campaign was well received and successfully contributed to improving awareness and responsible medication practices among students
