On May 8, WWII veterans, participants, home front workers living in the city of Kant were invited to the AzMI. A festive table was laid, a concert was organized by the students, where students sang songs of the war years. The rector of AzMI – professor T.T. Selpiev spoke to the guests. He noted that veterans and participants of the Second World War are very strong-minded people since they managed to endure all the horrors of the war, however, despite this, they all need social assistance, the attention of others. On behalf of the Founder of AzMI, all the invitees were awarded personal scholarships to provide financial assistance.

The vice-rector of AzMI, candidate of medical sciences Kushbakeeva A.K. She noted that veterans and participants of the Second World War deserve every respect. There would be no Victory, there would not be you and me. Thanks to their feat, everyone received an education, so we express our gratitude to them for their front-line and labor exploits.
