Admission Announcement for Postgraduate and Residency Programs

Satkynbay Tentishev Asian International University invites applications for admission to postgraduate and residency programs in medical specialties. Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreign citizens holding a medical degree are eligible to apply. Applicants for postgraduate programs must be under 35 years of age.

Documents Required for Admission to the Postgraduate Program

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Application addressed to the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Clinical Work
  2. Copy of passport
  3. Personal record sheet
  4. Autobiography
  5. Character reference or recommendation
  6. Photos 3×4 — 3 pieces
  7. Copy of diploma confirming completion of higher education
  8. Copy of certificate confirming completion of residency for clinical departments, or diploma confirming completion of master’s degree for theoretical departments
  9. List of published works and research reports
  10. Applicants without published works must submit research reports or abstracts in the chosen specialty
  11. Extract from the department meeting and petition
  12. Extract from the employment record book
  13. Certificates confirming completion of candidate examinations, if available
  14. Letter from the proposed scientific supervisor confirming consent to supervise and indicating the proposed dissertation topic

2. Clinical Residency Programs

Satkynbay Tentishev Asian International University invites graduates to participate in the competitive admission process for residency programs under License No. LS 250000840, Registration No. 2025-001.

Available Specialties

  • Surgery — duration of study: 3 years
  • Therapy — duration of study: 3 years
  • Orthopedic Dentistry — duration of study: 2 years
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology — duration of study: 3 years

The duration of study is established in accordance with Order No. 399 of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic dated May 31, 2018, “On Approval of the List of Medical and Pharmaceutical Specialties for Which Residency Is Provided.”

Applications for residency will be accepted from September 1, 2026.

Documents Required for Residency Admission

Applicants must contact the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Medicine and submit the following documents:

  1. Application addressed to the Rector of AzMU
  2. Copy of diploma of higher professional medical education and its supplement
  3. Certificate of education from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic for applicants who received education abroad, confirming equivalence of documents
  4. Autobiography
  5. Personal record card
  6. Registration card of a clinical resident, to be completed on-site
  7. Agreement between the graduate, AzMU, and the clinical base, to be completed on-site
  8. Questionnaire, to be completed on-site
  9. Photos 3×4 — 2 pieces, with an envelope for attaching photos
  10. Copy of passport
  11. Medical certificate Form 086 confirming health status
  12. Individual work plan, to be completed after admission together with the clinical supervisor

Documents to Be Presented in Person

Applicants must personally present:

  1. Passport or another official identity document
  2. Document confirming military service status

Applicants to residency programs must pass competitive entrance examinations based on the current university curriculum in the relevant specialty.

4. About Satkynbay Tentishev Asian International University

Satkynbay Tentishev Asian International University, formerly known as the Asian Medical Institute named after Satkynbay Tentishev, was founded in 2004. It is a private medical university licensed to conduct educational activities in the field of higher and secondary vocational education.

The main purpose of the university is to train highly qualified medical professionals who meet the needs of the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic and international medical standards.


5. Educational Programs

The Faculty of Medicine trains doctors in the following specialties:

  • General Medicine
  • Dentistry

Students are trained according to curricula developed in strict compliance with the Kyrgyz State Educational Standards. These standards support a competency-based approach to medical education.

The faculty provides all types of practical training required by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. These programs are based on the lists of applied skills approved by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

After graduation, AzMU graduates may continue their postgraduate education through residency programs, and some proceed to postgraduate studies in relevant educational fields.


6. Faculty Resources and Clinical Training

AzMU is located in two academic buildings in Kant:

Theoretical departments of the Faculty of Morphological Disciplines include:

  • Anatomy and Topographic Anatomy
  • Histology, Cytology and Embryology
  • Physics, Medical Informatics and Biology
  • Microbiology and Virology
  • Disaster Medicine
  • Normal Physiology
  • Pathological Physiology
  • Chemistry and Biochemistry

Clinical Departments

The clinical departments are mainly located in the administrative building at 58 Gagarin Street and include:

  • Department of Therapeutic Disciplines for General Medicine
  • Department of Dentistry
  • Department of Surgical Disciplines

The university has agreements with several clinical bases of the healthcare system in accordance with Order No. 54 of the Ministry of Health dated February 12, 2008, “On Approval of the List of Clinical Bases of Higher and Secondary Medical Educational Organizations.”

The Department of Natural Sciences and Humanities is located on the first floor of the administrative building at 3 Sovetskaya Street, Kant.


7. Student Body and Academic Environment

AzMU has a multinational student community with more than 4,500 students. The majority of students are international, including students from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and other countries.

Since 2019, most international students have completed one-year preparatory courses, where they receive basic knowledge of the Russian language and selected first-year subjects. Students of the Faculty of General Medicine are taught in English.

Classes are conducted in bright, well-equipped classrooms that meet relevant academic and professional requirements. Students receive practical training through modern educational facilities, including a simulation center and an interactive Pirogov anatomy table.


8. Student Life

The main governing body of student life at the faculty is the Student Parliament, which is formed through elections. In cooperation with the Dean’s Office, the Student Parliament organizes:

  • Competitions and olympiads
  • Cultural festivals
  • Sports competitions
  • Charitable and professional events
